Dr Alexia Tsakiris was born and raised on the Jersey shore in Monmouth Beach. She received her B.S. from Cook College, Rutgers University in 2000 and graduated with her BVetMed from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 2005.  Since graduation, she has worked as a small animal veterinarian focusing on internal medicine.  After being awaked by an acupuncture lecture at a veterinary conference in 2008, by the prospect of being able to further help her patients, she trained at the Chi Institute in Florida where she received her Certificate of Veterinary Acupuncture in 2009.  This awakening has opened her world to many other holistic modalities.

She has been studying herbal medicine with the College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT) where she received her Certificate of Veterinary Herbal Medicine (Western) in 2014 and earned her Graduate Diploma of Veterinary Western Herbal Medicine (GDipVWHM) in June of 2017.  She will also be teaching at workshops with Dr. Barbara Fougere and the CIVT.

As herbal medicine is her true passion, she studied under the world renowned Ethnobotanist, David Winston RH(AHG) in his two year Clinical Herbalist Program (2014-2016) and is working towards becoming a registered herbalist.

Since seeing the benefits of spinal manipulation (chiropractic), she began pursuing her veterinary spinal manipulation certificate through the Health Pioneers Institute in Chicago in January of 2017.

She has two beautiful boys, her husband Tommy, dogs Margarita and Lulu, and four chickens who keep her busy.
